One Spare Moment

So I finished my last two finals for spring semester yesterday morning. My next class starts on Monday so I thought I would take some of my small amount of spare time to catch up on my blog. Here are a few fun things from the past semester that I didn't have time to post:
In April we were able to attend the Saturday afternoon session of General Conference in the Conference Center. We forgot our camera but here is a picture from my camera:

We have had a few opportunities to babysit my nephew Lincoln he is so adorable!

This semester was a lot harder than I had anticipated, but I survived. One more down, three more to go!

Red Mango!

tonight my mom took me, logan, and libby to the new red mango in layton for some delicious frozen yogurt, yum! next time we'll have to go when jon is not at work so he can come too.

you might be wondering why i posted so soon, mostly because i wanted to get this up before libby, yes i win!

James Family Easter 09

This morning we colored eggs, ate a delicious breakfast, hunted for eggs, and played lots of rock band at the Paulsen home. Thanks for having us, here are a few pics:

I love the picture of chris holding the chicken out for luke, he was not sure about that chicken. I forgot to mention that along with plastic eggs we could also hunt for real chicken eggs because the Paulsen's have 4 or 5 chickens that live in the old dog kennel out back. Only in Hooper, Awesome! I little more explanation:  The Paulsens are Jon's sister Jenny and her husband Chris.  The kids in the pictures are our nieces and nephews on the james' side from left to right in the egg coloring picture: Jordan, Jaycee, Tyler, Maddie (and Kristen) and Luke (and David. 

Nothing going on

From the title of this post you can see it won't be long. We have been going to school, to work, and back to school again over and over. This past week was spring break but we both still had to work so we didn't get to do anything too exciting just sleep in for a few days and that was really nice. My sister Kady bought her kids new sunglasses for their upcoming trip to Hawaii and she sent me these pics from her phone, they are the only pictures I have of anything lately so here you go:

I love these kids I hope I get to see them soon and we are sad we don't get to go to Hawaii, stupid finals week!

Saying Hello and Goodbye

This morning Licoln was blessed in church by Taft, Taft did such a great job and the baby didn't make a sound. Jon said Lincoln just stared up at Taft and smiled the whole time. Lesha's parents had us all over for a delicious brunch after the blessing. Here is a picture of my immediate family that could come. We missed having the Peterson's there.

On another note this same group went together this evening to the viewing of one of the greatest men we had the chance to know. Bruce Marietti was our neighbor growing up and his three youngest were close in age to the three oldest in our family and his wife and my mom have been best friends for a long time. We were able to see a lot of friends and neighbors from our younger years and we all reminisced about what an amazing person Bruce was and how we will all miss him, but we are glad he is finally pain free and no doubt working hard as he always was. Note to his family: you are in our prayers.

Randomness

Our lives the past month or so has been filled with work, school, work, church. We haven't done much else, here are a few pics of some of the things we have found time for:

Valentines Day: I decided to try to make Jon's favorite meal from the cheesecake factory, it was a lot of work! but I got pretty close, too bad i didn't take a picture. Here are the flowers he brought home for me the night before Valentines.

Last my mom has decided to do a little remodeling and we are trying to help whenever we can. We got to knock down a small wall in the kitchen to expand the pantry and it was pretty fun:

Beautiful Day!

On Saturday Jon's sister Jenny was sealed to her husband Chris in the Ogden LDS Temple. It was such an amazing event, I am so glad we were able to attend. It was also cool because Jon and I were sealed in the same room just over 3 years ago and I was able to pay more attention to the words being said than I was on my own wedding day. Thanks Jenny and Chris for letting us be a part of your great day!

Notice the amazing white umbrellas? I had quite a bit of trouble findind someone who had access to them but I am glad I found them, they look so cool!

Happy Holidays Everyone!!

We had a great holiday season here are a few of our favorite moments:

1. For our 3rd wedding anniversary we got a massage, dinner at Ruby River, and a night at the Alaskan Inn. i had the flu but we still had a great time (sorry no pics)

2. We had the december birthday party with the james family on the 21, the food was delicious and I am really excited about my gift.

3. My girlfriends from high school got together for a small Christmas party. We went to the Olive Garden and had a great time playing a game and talking at Jodi's place.


4. Christmas Eve with the James family was a blast! We had more great food, a great time celebrating the birth of our Savior, fun opening presents, and more fun playing games.

5. Christmas morning at my mom's was so fun! We were able to see a lot of extended family and we had more great food. I tried to make jon some gluten free sticky buns, they didn't look great but he seemed to enjoy them.

6. The day after Christmas Jon and I headed out to San Francisco for my birthday there was lots of walking, some delicious mini donuts (thanks Kady), some clam chowder, and lots of fun.



7. On Sunday the 28th we drove down to my sister house in L.A. and met the rest of my family, Jon came down with the flu that morning but he felt better with the help of some medicine. We went to a really cool beach with tons of tide pools, did plenty of shopping, and played tons of rock band. It was a great way to bring in the new year.









8. Now we are home, Jon is back at work and we are looking forward to a new semester starting on Monday (mostly to get it over with). I hope everyone had a great holiday season!

He is finally here!!!

Last night Lesha gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, he was huge! 9 lbs 8 oz and 23 in long! I get thats what you get for going 13 days past the due date. We were lucky enough to get to see him just minutes after he was born and he is so adorable (and heavy). Here are a few pics:

Update

It probably doesn't surprise anyone to find out that we have been crazy busy with homework, final projects, and final tests coming up that we haven't had time to post anything and we haven't had time to do anything worth sharing. We are so glad this semester is almost over, just a little closer to graduation! We talk all the time about how it feels like we will be in school forever but jon only has 2 semesters left and I have a few more (i don't really want to give out the number in case it changes). Anyway, I know this thankful post is really late but I don't care, I just wanted to take a minute to share a few things I am thankful for:

I am so thankful for Jon. He does so much for me all the time, he edits all of my papers ( a lot!) even though I cannot read his (they are all in French or some computer language), he puts up with my emotional junk, and he does the laundry when I am at work. As you can tell from this picture he is so cute with all of our nieces and nephews and he is going to be such a great dad!

Second I am so thankful for our families. I have heard some holiday horror stories from other people and that is something we don't even worry about. Everyone is so easy to get along with and fun to be around.

Third I am thankful that we are able to go to school and make things better for our future family

Fourth I am thankful for our great sunday school class that I teach each week (Jon's shift at work has kept him from church since august) The kids are 14, 15, and 16 and they are so easy going and I am so grateful they don't expect a greatly prepared lesson each week (because I rarely find time to read it before church). Jon will be able to come back to church in January and I am extra grateful for that.

And last I am thankful that for my religion and for my testimony it keeps me going when I am down to my last thread.
