Memorial Day Weekend 2008

On Sunday we went to visit the cemetery where Marsha's parents and other relatives are buried. Here are some pictures of the family:

on a small side note, if anyone was wondering why my pumpkin sprouts look so weird in my last post, it is because I posted a picture of a weed. I know I am a total garden idiot. Anyway, the real sprouts have come up and they are looking so awesome along with all the other plants, I will have to post some new garden pictures really soon.

Garden Update

Things are growing really well right now but the weather is supposed to cool off in the next few days and I think this might slow down the growing process a little bit. I will post some more pictures when things get a bit bigger

A few days in Park City

I spent the past few nights in Park City with some of my girlfriends from high school. We had so much fun! We spent a lot of time shopping at the outlets and we all got some cute stuff. Staying up late and talking is always fun. Thanks Mckenna for planning such a fun trip! I hope we can go again soon and that more of the girls will be able to come. on a side note the seeds I planted a few weeks ago are starting to sprout out of the soil. I am very excited! I will post a picture as soon as they get big enough to see in a picture.

My latest project

I know, I am posting a lot at once, but we have been having a lot of fun lately. Here is one more for today:


This is my new vegetable garden, Marsha gave me a section of the yard and I have been working really hard! Luckily she had installed drip hoses already and I don't have to worry about watering. I planted peas, beans, carrots, butternut squash, and pumpkins. I will keep you updated on how things turn out. This picture is right after I planted all the seeds. I wish I had taken a picture before I cleared out all the weeds, but I didn't. So here this is the beginning of my first garden.

Another Adventure

So we tried the train again (after the free days ended) Jon and I got free passes at school, they cover the train, trax, and buses. Our destination was the Bees game in Salt Lake. We took the train down to the "hub" and trax the rest of the way to the game. It was really fun, but next time we'll need to keep track of time better. We ended up waiting almost an hour for the last train of the night and we didn't get home until after midnight. We will definitely use the train a lot this summer. Here are some pictures from the baseball game, we met Taft and Lesha at the game, they brought their friend's baby Teya she is so cute! and they were so cute with her, they are going to be great parents!

New Adventures

So our first summer home together has been a lot of fun so far. We went with Jon's family to try to ride the front runner train on a free day (big, crowded mistake!) We only went to one stop and came back home and decided to go to dinner. We forgot the camera on the train, but here are some pictures from dinner at crown burger after the failed train ride:

We love you Brooke

Okay, so Brooke might not be the next American Idol, but she was our favorite. Supporting Kady's good friend Brooke on American Idol has been a really fun experience for our family. We have been getting together every week to watch the performance show and voting for the full two hours, even our Grandma Bev got in on the action. I have really enjoyed having something to talk about with everyone and we all put these stickers on our cars in support of Brooke (Jon and Josh are excited that we are taking the stickers off so they won't be embarrassed to be seen riding around in their wives cars. Anyway, I just wanted the thank Brooke for bringing our family together and we hope to be able to support her in the future, starting with buying tickets to the tour. We love our American Idol.
