Small Random Things

Our lives have not been very exciting lately. We are both full time students and I work part time and Jon works full time. Our schedules don't allow for very much time together but we are trying to make the most of our time together (though it mostly consists of watching the MLB playoffs and doing homework). Here are a few things that I thought were exciting that have taken place in the last little while:
This is my enjoying my delicious gyro at the annual greek food festival in ogden, it was delicious!

My mom has become obsessed with making these beanies and her enthusiasm is contagious. I made one for each of the little ones in the james family. I made hats for maddie and jordan but I couldn't get them to sit still with their hats on for a pic. So here is luke, man this kid gets cuter every time we see him:

This picture is of a pumpkin vine that grew up one of the trees that surround my garden, I like to refer to it as my "pumpkin in a pine tree" but the snow storm that we had a week or so ago knocked it down. It was funny while it lasted.

Last I took a picture of the soup I made out of the butternut squash and carrots that I grew in my garden. The soup tasted pretty good even though I had to use twice the number of veggies because the ones out of my garden were miniature. Maybe next year I will get a normal size something to grow in my garden

That is all for now we hope everyone else is doing well

Another Trip to California

I really wish the peterson's would move home to Utah so we could see them more! but for now we go down to see them every chance we get. Here are a few pics of mine and libby's trip down to see them a few weekends ago:
These are all at the dodger's game for cal's b-day (btw the doyers beat the cubs last night in their first game of the playoffs, go doyers!)
Kady and Owen

Cal and his buddies

Me and Libby we had a lot of fun together

This is me with tess, she is so big! and she just gets cuter and cuter if that is possible

On a quick side note Brooke called on friday to invite us over because she just got home from the AI tour and was making room in her closet for all of her new clothes and getting rid of some clothes she was given and didn't have room for. Kady, Libby and I each got a new wardrobe and I have been wearing mostly my new free clothes since we got home It was so awesome. Thanks Kady for an AWESOME trip!

Happy Birthday Logan!

Logan just turned 18! I know this is about a week late but here are some recent pics of the youngest one (I almost put littlest but he is bigger than all the girls)
Before the homecoming dance, what a stud!

working on his eagle project, he finished his last merit badge at 9:30 the night before he turned eighteen, what a procrastinator!

Here is Logan in his natural state: Texting

Last is a pic of me holding Logan in the hospital right after he was born, Logan is the best little brother, though sometimes a major stinker! Happy Birthday bro!

You can probably figure out from my answers that school has started again. I started the education program this semester, that means only three more to go! It is a lot what I expected: a lot of work! Jon and I are working opposite schedules so we don't get to see each other very often, but we are surviving. Besides school and work, not a lot is happening. Libby and I are going down to see our favorite oldest sister in a few weeks and I should have some great pictures from that. That is all for now.

Pioneer Trek

As I previously mentioned we went on the pioneer trek a few weeks ago as a ma and pa. Here are some pictures from our very fun and very tiring experience:
Here we are at the top of the mountain that we pushed and pulled the handcart up, too bad we still had to go back down

here is our "family" at the top including all ten of our teenage kids, they did such a great job, I hardly even touched the handcart because the kids wanted to do all the work

this is a picture of the entire group that went on the trek

this is our family at the this is the place monument at the end of the trek, we really gained a sincere appreciation for all the people that made the trip across the country with handcarts, we only went 20 miles with a lot less to carry, more people to push and pull, and a hot meal waiting for us when we finished each day. I can't imagine the trials they had to go through.

More Summer Fun

A few weeks ago my mom called me at work to invite me to the James Taylor concert at the USANA amphitheater, here coworker and good friend and some extra tickets so I left work early and went down with my mom and logan. turned out the tickets came from a super rich guy that owns a suite at USANA so we got VIP parking, dinner, and great seats! it was so much fun! and i am sure logan will soon get over the fact that I bought the same shirt as him. Please ignore my ugly hair, like I mentioned before I didn't think I was going anywhere until the last minute.

This past Saturday night we went with Jodi and Tate to the Bees game. It was so fun! I've always loved Jodi and I love to see her so happy! Thanks guys for inviting us, we look forward to getting together again.

So much to post so little time

So I have been avoiding adding to my blog and then I wonder why other people take so long to update, so I decided to step it up and share a few things that have been going on. So keep scrolling down a bit after this post because there is a little bit more to see. In addition to the following posts we went on the pioneer trek last weekend through East Canyon as a "ma and pa" of a family. I was really nervous but it turned out awesome! Our "kids" were hilarious, they even stole a "baby" (really a plastic doll) from another family and hiding it in our handcart. I didn't dare take our digital camera so I took a disposable and it will be a few days before I can get the pictures developed. Also a smaller note that I finally went all dark with my hair. If you noticed my last color was only blonde in the front, I decided it would be easier to keep up for school. My friends, family, and coworkers all had trouble recognizing me. It has been a big change but I am getting more used to it every day.
here is a quick photo from my web cam so it is not the best quality

American Idol

I know these are way out of order so "I apologize" as said by David Archuletta. So Brooke got us some really great seats at the AI concert on July 15, 4th row! it was so awesome! Here are some pics

Family Pictures

While the Petersons were here a few weeks ago we had some family pictures taken, thanks to kyrsten for the location idea and thanks to Mark and Kristen for taking the group pictures

as for the individual families I'll go oldest to youngest first is kady's family, they are so cute!

Taft and Lesha are next

Right in the middle are me and Jon

Here is Josh and Libby

Last of course is Logan, I can't believe our little brother is almost eighteen!

here are all the girls except Tess, it was really hot and it didn't take long for the kids to get tired of being in pictures

last but not least one of the boys, we didn't actually get a pic with all of them looking but this one is so cute with owen giving his dad a raspberry on his cheek

Also we would like to thank the Peers for taking our pictures and in return we took theirs here is my favorite of them, they have such a cute little family
